• Bank of America Chicago Marathon to Help Set Opportunity in Motion for Chicago; “10-10-10: The Date to Motivate” Campaign Launches Today
  Bank of America today launched a new integrated marketing campaign for the 2010 Bank of America Chicago Marathon and released results of the latest economic impact report, which found that the event generates nearly $150 million for the local economy. Additionally, more than $10 million is expected to be raised in connection with the 2010 event, benefitting more than 150 nonprofit organizations, the largest charity field in race history. • National Cycling Event Launches for Paul Newman's Hole in the Wall Camps for Kids with Serious Illnesses

• Injured Veterans to Ride 430 Miles from Edina, Minn., to Milwaukee in Fundraiser for Rehabilitation Programs
  The Ride 2 Recovery Great Lakes Challenge, sponsored by UnitedHealthcare, supports R2R indoor Spinning® Recovery Labs and outdoor cycling programs at Military and Veterans Affairs locations around the U.S., aiding the rehabilitation and recovery efforts of injured veterans.(8/17/2010) permalink
• MyDunkTank offers up crazy dares for good causes
  A new company called MyDunkTank lets people raise money for charitable causes on its website by performing what it calls crazy dares. They get their friends, family and other supporters of the cause to visit mydunktank.com and make a donation by voting on the crazy dare they should do. (8/16/2010) permalink
• Dempsey's challenge: Making time to stay fit

  Wyndham Worldwide (NYSE: WYN), one of the world's largest hospitality companies, supports a variety of environmentally friendly projects through its Wyndham Green sustainability initiative and is pleased to welcome Tom Jones to New York City as he makes the final stop on his world record, 1,500-mile oceanic journey to benefit the Plastic Free Ocean organization. • Patrick Dempsey Ups Ante for Maine Cancer Challenge
  The Dempsey Challenge consists of a 5-kilometer run and walk, and bicycle rides of 10, 25, 50 and 100 miles through the Lewiston region. In its first year, the walk, run and bicycle ride raised $1 million for The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing. This year's goal is to improve on that. (8/4/2010) permalink
• Stressed out are running for their sanity, helping retailers
  Running is booming in the U.S. as more people seek inexpensive ways to manage stress amid economic uncertainty. The boom also can be seen at local running stores, where sales of shoes and other items considered crucial to the sport remain at or above pre-recessionary levels — no small feat given the economic turmoil of the past two years. • 15th Annual Hope In Motion raises more than $900 thousand
  More than 4,500 walkers, runners, and riders took to the streets of downtown Stamford raising a record $900,000, and counting, for the 15th annual Hope in Motion - Walk, Run & Ride. The event held June 6 on National Cancer Survivors Day(r), raises vital funds for local cancer programs and services offered at Stamford Hospital's Bennett Cancer Center, and honors those whose lives have been touched by the disease.   Super Bowl Champion Amani Toomer will trade his football cleats for a pair of running shoes and a new Timex® Ironman® Global Trainer™ Bodylink® System, a GPS-enabled training tool , as he takes on his next athletic challenge -- the 2010 ING New York City Marathon on Sunday, November 7, 2010.
