Ride Coordinator


The Ride Coordinator handles all assigned aspects of the Ride® program including meeting targeted Ride income and expense targets.  The Ride Coordinator works in close conjunction with the Ride Director, the Director of Development, and the Logistics Admin to ensure the Ride is successful in all aspects.  The Ride Coordinator is part of the Event and Fund Development teams.

Ride to Defeat ALS Functions

·         Develop and implement a comprehensive plan to meet budgeted income goals for the Ride program in assigned regions that includes corporate involvement, team-building and fundraising, communication and stewardship, marketing and outreach, and ride day objectives.

·         Works in conjunction with the Director of Development to achieve corporate sponsor budgeted goals and for implementing a corporate solicitation model, (CLC, corporate effort, etc.).

·         Works in conjunction with marketing staff to achieve marketing (PR) objectives.

·         Works in conjunction with the Logistics Admin to coordinate all event day logistics.

  • Responsible for the recruitment, stewardship, and retention of a strong Ride committee chair and members.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, stewardship, and retention of team captains, as well as individual walkers and secure maximum income from each individual and team. 
  • Manages volunteers.
  • Ensures each ride site operates within budgetary guidelines. 

·         Other duties as assigned.


Bachelor’s degree.

One (1) to three (3) years of experience in fundraising, event management, communications, or related field.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required. 

Experience using DonorPro, Convio, and database programs desired.

Must be comfortable with initiating traditional fundraising techniques, i.e. cold calling, overcoming objectives, asking for the gift, etc.

Experience with volunteer management desired.

Skilled communicator, with superior interpersonal, verbal and written skills.

Able to handle confidential information and maintain high confidentiality.

Team player who enjoys interaction with professionals, peers, volunteers and those served by the organization.

Ability to sit for long periods of time.

Ability to move about to retrieve files and visit donors.

Ability to lift up to 50lbs

Willingness to travel within the State of Florida.  May require travel outside of Florida for regional or national meetings. 

Must have and maintain a valid drivers’ license and a good driving record.

Must maintain required insurance on automobile driven for business purposes.
