Tom WhitesideEvents Fundraising Ambassador, LIVESTRONG
Tom Whiteside has worked with LIVESTRONG (the Lance Armstrong Foundation) since June 2009. An endurance athlete himself, Tom has participated in many triathlons and is an avid runner.
Diagnosed with stage IV Hodgkin’s lymphoma at age 26, Tom moved back to his hometown to undergo five months of high-dose chemotheraphy and 24 days of targeted radiation. After being declared in remission in June of 2007 he returned to Austin to help others affected by cancer. After a stint at Planet Cancer (a community of support for young adults with cancer and now a LIVESTRONG initiative) he took his current position with LIVESTRONG to help grow the Team LIVESTRONG Endurance program.
