Alicia O'Neill

Director, Endurance Events and Race Program MMRF

Alicia O'Neill founded the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) Endurance Events Program in 2008, providing the Norwalk, CT based cancer research charity with a successful franchise, which has grown exponentially and has generated over $7.5 million in five years. Alicia was recently promoted to also oversee and revitalize the 14 year-old, 9-city Race for Research 5K Run/Walk Program.

Alicia’s first career was as a salesperson for Warner Bros. Domestic TV, where she honed her sales and professional skills in an 11-year span that culminated as the VP East Coast Sales, in NY. During a 10-year self-imposed work hiatus that afforded her time to raise her small children, Alicia began running marathons and later parlayed that love of running into a second career that began as a Sales Manager at Running Times Magazine.

After Runners World bought the publication in 2007, Alicia founded a consulting company, Reach More Runners, where she served a variety of clients ranging from the Boston Marathon to Training Peaks training software. It was during this time that she began a volunteer project that evolved into the MMRF Endurance Events Program. That work now keeps her engaged full-time with a staff of 5.

Alicia lives in New Canaan, CT with her husband and her youngest daughter. She continues to run and last April completed the London Marathon, her 9th marathon.
